Areas of Practice
Special Education
We can help your child receive the right Individualized Education Program (IEP) and make sure that it is implemented with fidelity in the classroom. Under the law, children must receive customized instruction that teaches them at their unique instructional level.
DISCIPLINE
Students with disabilities are sometimes disciplined unfairly because of behaviors they cannot control. Pennsylvania law prohibits any punishment for a manifestation of a student’s disability. Ruder Law attorneys know how to manage discipline questions while addressing the student's underlying behavioral needs.
Behavioral SUpport
If a student has behaviors that interfere with their learning, they are entitled to a Positive Behavioral Support Plan (PBSP) targeting those behaviors. Our team knows how to design PBSPs that can support your child, even in their home school.
Changing SCHOOL Placements
Sometimes schools don't have the ability to meet a student's needs, even with added supports and modifications. We assist parents in finding the right program to make struggling students into lifelong learners.
AUTISM
Students with autism require a wide range of interventions to support their diverse needs. We can help your child obtain Verbal Behavior programming, sensory accommodations, social skills instruction, and other interventions necessary for your child to succeed at school.
DysLEXIA
Students with reading disorders may require a specialized program to help them learn to read. Ruder Law attorneys know how to advocate for multi-sensory direct instruction reading programs within a child's home school setting.
